New Canada centenary Umbro kit
Sick eh?
The new @NewYorkRedbulls kit by @AdidasSoccer was unveiled today. SADLY, it’s NOT SICK.
While fans hoped the New York Red Bulls would end the tradition of a MASSIVE RED BULL LOGO emblazed on the chest, it appears they’ve made it EVEN BIGGER for 2012.
We appreciate the clean lines of the design and definitely think they were headed in the right direction. It just seems like someone said, “Can we make the logo bigger…” We’ll drink Red Bull, we’ll call them the Red Bulls - we just wish they could cut fans some slack on the kit.
All we can hope for now is that the club will recognize the fans’ wishes and create a third kit that answers the call.

First, a little about the club itself. Alphabet City SC plays in the Urban Soccer League in New York City. We were formerly known as the Rovers of Catan, named after the trendy board game that a bunch of us were into at the time of our founding (summer of 2010, just after the World Cup). But, believe it or not, players on the club had a bit of trouble rallying behind that name. (Shocking, I know.) So we switched it up two or three seasons ago to something more literal: Alphabet City SC. Most of us live or have lived for long stretches in the East Village, so the name — “Alphabet City” is the Eastern-most part of the East Village, where the avenue names are letters, like A, B and C, not numbers — made a lot more sense. And, more importantly, this new name had absolutely nothing to do with board games.
… excellent post by Randy about the soccer team we’re all playing on.

Flamengo pays homage to UNICEF - numbers on kits drawn by kids.
Coloring on kits is sick.
